To that I'll add: a success mindset is something you build deliberately — and it starts with planning.

My experience shows that even if you're on that road to victory, it's often a curvy, winding road. However, since you're the driver, the way you drive will determine how and whether you'll reach your destination. Developing a success mindset means knowing exactly where you are going.

Entrepreneurial Mindset Planning: Start with the Destination

First thing's first — you should know where you're going, what's your destination, or what do you want to achieve. My advice? Be specific! The next step on the way is planning the journey, i.e., how do you get to your destination, including the checks and balances en route. The planning also helps pinpoint what holds us back. Reaching this juncture, take a moment to reflect and give yourself a pat on the back. Because once identified, it's much easier to acknowledge the setbacks. As the famous adage goes: understanding the problem is half the solution.

Overcome Fear of Failure — The Entrepreneur's Biggest Obstacle

After years of business coaching in Israel and mentoring entrepreneurs, I have learned that setbacks are often based on fear. A true success mindset requires us to acknowledge those fears rather than ignore them. Although fear is not homogenous — there are different kinds of fear — we react all the same, because that's how we humans are designed: to avoid danger or potentially harmful situations. When our mind interprets a situation as potentially harmful, even if there's no real threat, we go into fight or flight mode.

An entrepreneur's journey is not an easy one, and the road to success is scarcely paved for anyone. Having a lot at stake and often holding onto old ways, patterns, and past experiences, the fear of failure can be not only gripping but also paralyzing.
